Humor in the Obvious
Andrew’s quirky personality and blossoming language keeps us smiling daily. He has two frequently used sayings that are so simple, so obvious and so true, that it’s comical. Use your imagination and picture a pint size little boy with big blue eyes and dimple in the following:
(1) The scene: Nap time and Andrew refuses to sleep. He walks to his bedroom door (there is a gate up so he can’t wander) and yells at the top of his lungs with extreme assertion, ‘I’m awake! I’m awake! I’M AWAKE!’
Sitting downstairs I breath a sigh and think to myself, ‘Yeah, no sh*t.’ Nap time over. End scene.
(2) The scene: Driving in the car and Andrew in his car seat. He’s declared that he wants to go home and is done in the car. As he tries to wiggle out of his seat he yells, ‘I’m stuck! I’m stuck! I’m STUUUUCK!’
We chuckle to ourselves and say, ‘Yup, that’s the whole point buddy.’ End scene.
While the humor may be lost in translation here, we find it pretty hilarious and love our little comedian!

Pretty nice little Sunday
Some unexpected pure joy during today’s errands. First, andrew saw tractors at Home Depot and of course he had to sit on no less than 3 of them.

Then there were some trucks and construction vehicles parked in the Costco parking lot. His little head about exploded. His response when looking at the trucks, ‘I want to drive them.’

After naps and yard work, a stroll to the playground. Check out these dudes and their shades. Such studs. ❤

‘Framily’
Friend- family or ‘framily’ is the best way to summarize our special relationship with the Hogans. It’s crazy to think that after 30+ years of friendship we’d have baby boys 2 days apart and live 10 minutes from each other. Well things got even nuttier when ‘the littles’ arrived just 4 days apart! Welcome to the clan Teddy and Charlie Ella!

Mommies away, Daddies Play!!!
Last weekend the Phillips family got to travel down to “happy valley” to see cousin’s new and old, Grandma & Grandpa, and finally Aunt Cathy & Uncle Gabe. It was a ton of fun getting to hang with the ever growing PB&J crew. On Saturday Gabe, Grandpa, and I got the become the “decision makers” when the ladies went to my cousin Maureen’s bridal shower. While I’m fairly certain they were nervous to come home to a lord of the flies situation, I think we men did a spectacular job (if i do say so myself).
After some inconsistent napping schedules (Andrew was awake before Everett even went down), we dads mustered our efforts and made it to the Catoctin nature center. The kids loved seeing the animals, running around, and basically not listening. Then we moved outside to the playground which somehow was even better.
Once we had seen everything there was to see (or the dads got a little chilly) we went home and Grandpa put years of experience toward the greater good, pizza for the kidos. As you can see it was a huge hit!
