    Tonight, avocado!

Why does this kid have such a pained face when he tries something new?

  • Little boy. Big changes.

    Little boy. Big changes.

Andrew had his 6 month check up today. We learned that he is 28 1/4 inches long (95%) and 17 lbs 8 oz (50%). Today we also got the clearance to try some formula as we increase his solid foods. We also need to practice sitting more. And the biggest change- no more night time feedings. So when the baby cries at 3am, anyone can get up to comfort him. Game on Daddy. Hope you’re well rested cause it’s Mommy’s turn to sleep.

  • 6 Months!

    6 Months!

Andrew William is 6 months old today! I can’t believe we are already half way to his first birthday. Andy and I are so blessed to have this little guy in our life and it’s amazing to watch him experience the world.

What to say about Andrew William?! Andrew has a beautiful and fun loving personality. He smiles at strangers, giggles when you tickle him and seems to just want to play. He babbles all the time, loves his ‘bouncey’ (so much that he has a blister on his toe from jumping so much) and scooter. Andrew also thinks his feet are just great. Sophie the Giraffe is his favorite toy and he is really close to crawling (we think). He is a master at rolling around and in the last week can almost sit on his own. Now he can get his butt high up in the air in a crawling stance and inch forward if you put a toy in front of him. If that’s not almost crawling, I don’t know what is.

Andrew solidly wears 9 month-size clothes but prefers when we let him just wear his diaper. I see many naked baby days in our future this summer. He insists on sleeping on his belly- even though we put him down on his back. Still no teeth and I’ll have the official height/weight tomorrow at this doctor’s appointment.

Andrew has also amassed quite the list of culinary experiences this month. He has tried bananas, apples, pears, strawberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, raspberries, and oats and quinoa. Pears seem to be his favorite so far- just like his Daddy. And while Andrew is enjoying food, I am really proud I’ve been able to exclusively breastfeed him the last six months. Quite a feat for this working momma!

Life with Andrew is never dull and I’m sure will only get more fun as we check off additional milestones in the next six months!

The Andrews and I went on a family walk at Lord Stirling Nature Center last week. The little Andrew complained less than the big one.
