    TEDDY: 4 MONTHS!

120 days of Teddy! How quickly the time is flying by! 4 months really marks the ‘awakening’ of Teddy from a newborn to baby boy. And a growing baby he is! Teddy is 15 lbs 12 oz. He gained a whopping 26% of his body weight from month 2 to month 4. However, he’s still only in the 55% for weight. Teddy is also 25 1/2 inches long and again in the 55% for height. [Gasp from the towering Phillips side of the family!]

Teddy has lots of new tricks! His physical milestones are really obvious and so fun to watch. Teddy is smiling tons, starting to giggle, loves to be tickled and has found his hands. His eye-hand coordination has really improved and he can pick up blocks and hold toys. He’s also entered the ‘everything in my mouth’ phase so right when those toys are picked up, into the mouth they go. And he rolls! He can now purposefully (and frequently!) roll from his back to his tummy and tummy to his back. He even now prefers to sleep on his stomach. He’s like a little pancake flipping from his back to belly when I put him in his crib at night!

And night time….praise the Lord; he sleeps! Fingers, toes, legs, arms, body crossed that we have turned the corner for good. Teddy is much more smoothly going to bed on his own at 7-7:30 pm and sleeping until 3-4 am. He does usually wake but can get himself back to sleep again unassisted within 20 minutes. He doesn’t eat again until ‘morning’ (aka 5 am) when the milk bar re-opens.

Teddy Bear has beautiful blue eyes and light brown/blond hair. He LOVES to be held, hates his car seat, enjoys a good walk, is super ticklish and melts our hearts! Andrew said it best yesterday, ‘I love Teddy. He’s really cute.’

Look who’s helping me finish up emails today?!

My favorite part is when he calls Fig Newtons ‘McSnoots.’

  • Super Dad!

    Super Dad!

Happy Father’s Day to our very own Super-Dad, Andy! Our boys are pretty lucky to call you Daddy. You make them laugh with every ounce of their being, calm them down when they’re upset, rock them to sleep when needed, teach them new tricks, create a little-boy heaven with trails in the backyard, read stories, play trains and most importantly show them what hard work, love and family are all about each and every day. Oh- and you keep mommy sane in the process (a crucial and sometimes challenging task!)! You’re an amazing role model and we’re so blessed to have you in our lives!

Happy Father’s Day to Papa, Grandpa and all the other dads out there who love our little family!

Though his new ‘glasses’ (aka goggles) may be overkill for the deck! ?

  • What’s in a name?

    What’s in a name?

We’ve been teaching Andrew the idea of last names recently. He’s definitely catching on and will pretty consistently say ‘Phillips’ when you ask him his last name. He also understands that mommy has another name called Kristi and daddy has another name; Andy. So with all this understanding I thought it was a no-brainer when I asked what Teddy’s last name is. His response: ‘Bear.’ ? So according to Andrew Teddy’s full name is ‘Teddy Bear.’

Perhaps I should cut back from using my Teddy Bear nickname a bit!
