    TEDDY: 5 MONTHS!

Our little bear has almost reached the halfway point to one year! What?!?!

5 months has really marked the beginning of lots of fun milestones for Teddy. First, he’s officially found his feet and hands and he thinks they’re pretty awesome to play with. Teddy also seems to enjoy his thumb so I think we have another budding thumb sucker on our hands! He can roll from back to belly and belly to back without any problem. No more leaving him unattended! Teddy has also started to play in the ‘bouncey’ and the scooter. He’s definitely getting the hang of being up right and has JUST started to sit unassisted. Teddy is babbling and blowing bubbles a ton and LOVES to smile! He giggles and smiles with his whole body when he’s happy and is without question a VERY social baby!

Praise the Lord, his sleep is getting much better! Fingers and toes crossed, Teddy has seemingly turned a corner with his sleep. He goes down around 7-7:30 with almost no fuss and will sleep until about 5am. At 5am, he quickly eats and will go back to sleep for another 1-2 hours…or however long Andrew decides to let him sleep. If he does wake in the night, he’s pretty consistently capable of putting himself back to sleep quickly. He’s starting to take after his champion sleeper big brother and it’s AMAZING!

5 months also marked the start of food for Teddy! We started with rice cereal and now we’re onto bananas. Teddy detested the rice (honestly- it looks terrible!) but seems to like bananas. Next stop, butternut squash. No official weigh-in this month but I’m guessing he’s around 16.5-17 lbs. He starting to wear 9-12 month clothes but can still squeeze into a few 6 months clothes if needed.

Teddy Bear still hates his car seat and is a solid B/B- car traveler. However, he loves rolling around, playing with his ‘crinkle book’ and putting ANYTHING in his mouth; the colder the better! He thinks his big brother is awesome and greets mommy and daddy with BIG ear to ear smiles when he sees us.

He is without question our most favorite person under 2 feet tall! ❤️New skills:

  • Cooking Salad

Throwing salad on the floor…I wonder which parent he subconsciously learned that from. (Hint: not mommy).

  • ‘No cheese me mommy!’

    ‘No cheese me mommy!’

So much for a cute morning selfie with the boys! ?

  • Here comes trouble…

    Here comes trouble…

Teddy was VERY excited to be able to stand at the train table today and play with his brother. Andrew….well, not so much. I believe the exact phrase was, ‘Stop eating my freight car Teddy!’

I see MANY more disagreements in our future. Let the fun begin…

  • Baby’s 1st Jetski

    Baby’s 1st Jetski

We took andrew out on the jetski (slow of course!) for the first time this weekend. He was definitely apprehensive, and asked for his Ellie a few times, but he did it! No tears! We’re definitely proud of him for trying something new….and wearing the life jacket without a fight. I think this is only the beginning. I see many more adventures with Daddy in his future! ?

  • That moment….

    That moment….

….when you realize the paper on the table at the doctor’s office makes noise. Commence rapid flailing of arms and legs and uncontrollable giggles!

  • Happy Birthday America!

    Happy Birthday America!

We spent the 4th of July long weekend on LBI! The weather was awesome and provided many opportunities for feeding the ducks at the bay, going to the beach, taking long walks in the morning, ‘swimming’ in the hot tub, playing in the pool, visiting the playground and just being silly together! So glad to be able to spend time together as a family since the days, weeks and months are seemingly flying by!

Morning walks…a few donuts and bagels were consumed along the way. A net neutral calorie/exercise event. PS- Check out those cheeks on Teddy! Chunky monkey phase in FULL effect!

    Feeding the ducks:

Beach time! Andrew is super into digging at the moment.

    No sun for Teddy! ?

Teddy looks like a real Jersey tough guy in this photo! 🙂

More fun, naps, swimming and lots of baby giggles!

Thank you Founding Fathers for choosing to ditch the Brits and declare independence in a month that has perfect beach weather! Much appreciated!

  • Reunited!

    Reunited!

After 4 days apart, A & T were back together! Andrew wanted to go for a walk in the wagon with Teddy. We improvised….After the wagon we headed to the park. A brave new world without the car seat!
