    Just a Kid from Bernardsville

Nothing’s better than a warm Friday night and hanging with your best buds!

And nothing is more challenging than trying to get 4 kids under 4 to look at the camera at the same time!

  • BUC vs The Beach

    BUC vs The Beach

While Andy travels a lot (!), most weeks its a day or two here or there. But each year in June, he has to attend in annual company user conference (affectionately referred to as BUC) in Chicago that lasts Monday- Friday. While I love my children with all of my being, that’s just a LONG time to be solo parenting; 5 breakfasts, 5 dinners, 5 baths, 5 lunches and lord knows how many irrational tantrums. So I decided to pack up the kids early Tuesday morning and head to the beach for some support. The boys had a great time at ‘Camp Coco’ while I worked. Who wouldn’t love long walks, trips to the playground, digging in the sand, riding bikes and being spoiled by your grandparents?!?  It wasn’t all fun and games. It was educational too! Like when Andrew learned the valuable life lesson from Papa on how to pour wine! ‘SLOWLY!’ ?

  • Spelunking

    Spelunking

We traveled to Hershey, PA earlier this month to celebrate my Aunt Bonnie’s well deserved retirement (40 years!) from teaching. The drive was a little far for the boys so we decided to space out the time in the car and visit nearby Indian Echo Caverns. Andrew has been into caves recently- and by that I mean hanging out in the bathroom with the lights off and a flashlight. So it was a great little family outing that was right up his alley. Andrew lead the group and kept yelling ‘how cool is this?!?’ while Teddy was pointing at the rocks yelling ‘that!, that!’

    Memorial Day in Maryland

Cousins make the best of friends! ❤️

  • Star Wars

    Star Wars

Andrew has recently been getting really into imaginative play and dressing up. He also really likes BB-8, Darth Vader other Star Wars characters in the library books we check out. And of course Daddy is over joyed with the prospect of someone to share his Star Wars nerd-ery, I mean ‘interests’ with. So when I came across light sabers, a talking Darth Vader mask and a Luke Skywalker costume during my annual pilgrimage to the rummage sale, of course I bought it!

A rainy, low key Saturday was the perfect time for a battle between the forces of good and evil.

Teddy was cool with the light saber but not so happy with the Vader helmet.

Papa and Coco event got in on the fight when they came to visit!

  • Cinco de Derby

    Cinco de Derby

Our 4th annual Kentucky Derby party coincided with Cinco de Mayo! A fiesta inspired twist on our usual ‘bourbon in the burbs’ shindig. And as our invitation said, a fantastic excuse to drink bourbon and eat tacos! So happy that so many friends and family could join us on a beautiful Saturday!

Obligatory pre-party pics. Boys in their bow ties and girls in their hats….Trying to get little kids to smile and sit still is IMPOSSIBLE.

    Piñata!

Good food, great friends and the joys of being together! Happy Spring y’all!

    Sun Shining & Fire Pitting

An 80 degree day and small sample of summer meant the water table, picnics, roasting hot dogs and making s’mores! ?

PS- picnics are officially my favorite! 6 kids, so many snacks & 0 crumbs I’m my house!

  • Easter!

    Easter!

In case you wanted to know EXACTLY what Easter looked like with the boys!

Desperately trying to break into the candy!

After some sugar highs, lows and much needed coffee for Mom and Dad, we got dressed up and headed to Ridgewood Country Club; Uncle Nathan and Aunt Andrea’s home away from home! A fantastic lunch- that I didn’t need to cook!

    I think they had fun….

    Happy Easter 2018!
